Each month our Brilliance-Based Blog Panel shares their perspectives on questions I pose to inspire Brilliance-Based Businesswomen and others who support us. I hope you’ll contribute to the dialogue by commenting below. Today’s question:
As Brilliance-Based Businesswomen, what are your biggest dreams for your life and your Brilliance-Based Business?
Stefanie Frank – Initiative Based Writing®
The reality of running a business has removed the fluff from what I thought my dreams were when I started: nebulous, high minded stuff like wanting to “change the world.” Yeah, . . . right! Way too big and too vague to take action on.
Now my big dreams are . . .
- To grow a business that will take care of me and my family financially while giving my clients the most excellent service they’ve ever experienced from a writing professional.
- To tap into the strength, desire and perseverance I already have in spades to train through the intense desert heat and finish the Ironman 70.3 World Championships on September 9, 2012.
- To live some place less brutally hot than southern Nevada during the summer months.
- To support my husband’s coffee business.
- To have lots of time to relax and chill.
Five years ago I didn’t know any of this was possible. But as I’ve stepped forward in faith, opportunities have popped up. My biggest dream of all is to stay engaged and act on every great opportunity that comes my way. By doing that I will change the world.
Bryn Johnson – Bryn Johnson Consulting
I just love this topic. Why? Because I do not focus on my dreams often enough.
You know: in business and life, there is always one more thing to do. Some mundane action that moves the needle ahead just a little bit but is not very inspiring (unless you find invoicing or dishes inspiring). But what about that dream? How are my actions supporting that dream?
Oh, I am embarrassed to say that I would have this conversation (and even push a little) with a dear friend, collaborator or client. Now it is time to have that conversation with MYSELF!
I have many dreams. But when asked this question today, the dream that immediately came to mind is to be a published author many times over with a flourishing speaking career.
Every day moving forward when making a decision, I will be certain to ask myself whether the particular action I am about to take will move me closer or further away from the dream. Yes, that is what I will do!
Watch out world! Here I come!
Heather Dominick – EnergyRICH®
You may not know this about me, but I have a secret dream of being Kelly Ripa (as is the show, “LIVE with Kelly!”) Not the petite, blond, arms-like-guns part, but the ability to genuinely connect, entertain, teach and serve billions via live TV part (and I’m taking a HUGE step in that direction on June 28th – I really cannot wait!)
I share with my clients and students each day: Worthy dreams S-T-R-E-T-C-H you beyond the past and challenge your limits, calling you to live larger than you thought you could. Worthy dreams and outrageous goals are valuable because they expand your belief system and carve wider neural pathways in your brain, by which your good may be delivered to you. Even if you do not achieve your highest goal immediately, you will attain far more than you would have if you had only entertained a smaller dream.
The first step is about BEING. I begin with feeling – my energy. Then I move to thinking. A feeling, a thought, but then the magic of motion kicks in with action. So often people will halt themselves by thinking about what they want and then focusing on the waiting. I have to BE NOW.
Each day I check in and ask myself:
=>Do I want more success? How can I BE it NOW?
=> Do I want to serve more clients? How can I BE of more service NOW?
=>Do I want more joy? How can I BE it NOW?
Feel it first, because you will have felt it first … and the mind doesn’t know the difference.
Your mind only knows what you tell it – not the other way around.
Jennifer Zwiebel – A Place of Joy®
That’s a doozy—my biggest dreams for my life and business seem to change on a regular basis, so I’ll go ahead and share today’s vision. I would love to have incredible balance in my life and business so I spend all the time I want with myself, kids, husband, family and friends AND clients. I would love to get to a meta-level where I have greater perspective and don’t feel like every wave is going to swell and crash and take me along with it. I want to have my next book written and out there changing lives, and my people using their Pocket Miracles to do things they’d never thought possible.
I want to celebrate my 40th birthday stronger and more toned than I’ve ever been before, and also be an awesome kickboxer! I want to love being luscious and celebrate my body, preferably on a Caribbean island with my husband in our private villa. I want to launch my goddess celebration for extraordinary women entrepreneurs who know they deserve to live the life of their dreams and want to laugh their asses off while they’re doing it. That actually sounds like a pretty awesome vision! I think I’ll stick with that one for now:)
What are your big dreams? Can you see them in your mind, clear as day? Or is your vision of your future somewhat murky? Dreams energize us, in all the ways the panelists described. If you’re having trouble seeing your dreams, email us to arrange a brief one-on-one chat, my gift to you.
