Opening New Dialogue

Who is enough? What is enough? How much is enough? Do you ever wonder? Lately I’ve been hearing from my inner critic a lot, the voice of what I like to call my Business Brain. It tells me I haven’t done enough research on middle schools, I’m not giving enough attention to my kiddos, I’m not marketing enough, I need to do better financial analysis. I’m not enough, not enough, not enough.

If you’ve read my story, you know I know this voice all too well, as it’s been speaking to me (sometimes softly, sometimes loudly) for most (if not all) of my life.

Yep, I'm a little bit Lucy.

When it comes to Universal Brilliance, I’m a little bit Lucy.

So last week, inspired by a suggestion of one of my wise spiritual guides, I started a new practice. At the end of my morning prayers and affirmations, I started asking the highest power for a bit of an impromptu performance evaluation:

What do You want me to know about how I’m doing?” And then I’m quiet.

In this headspace, my Business Brain is subdued. I tune in for words from Universal Brilliance. Today I heard these, slowly and distinctly: Listen. Love. Learn. Leap.

There I was, listening, and I was told to listen more! I loved it. It felt like confirmation that I was on the right track at that very moment.

Love. With all my heart, I prioritize love over all else. Again, I’m on the right track with this.

Learn. If there’s one other action that I’m taking constantly, it’s learning, from everyone I meet and everything I experience.

Leap. Ah. It’s time. Time to take the leap into the decision I’m currently facing, carefully considering what I’ve learned, who I love, and what I’ve heard from them.

Do you ever ask the Universe for direct feedback? If not, wanna try it?

Let me know in the comment section below what you hear. I’ll be tuning in daily.
